Install OnePaste in a minute

Requirements, setup and the one permission OnePaste asks for — explained plainly.

OnePaste 0.3.0

macOS 14 Sonoma or later · Apple silicon (M1 and newer) · about 3 MB

OnePaste needs a license key to work: a one-time purchase of $19. Bought it already? It asks for your key when you first open it.

Set up in five steps

  1. Open the download and drag OnePaste into your Applications folder.
  2. Launch OnePaste. It lives in your menu bar — there’s no Dock icon to clutter things up.
  3. Paste your license key when the welcome screen asks, and click Activate. It’s in your purchase email and on the page you saw after checkout.
  4. Allow Accessibility access when asked: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility → switch on OnePaste. The welcome screen moves on by itself once it’s on.
  5. Add your essentials — type a handle for LinkedIn or Instagram, import from your website or Contacts card, then try it: click into any text box and double-tap ⌥.

System requirements

  • macOS 14 Sonoma or later

  • About 3 MB of disk space

Good to know

  • Your library is stored at ~/Library/Application Support/OnePaste/library.json and backed up automatically once per session.
  • You can change the trigger key, turn on launch at login and replay the welcome tour from Settings (click the menu-bar icon).
  • Updating is as simple as replacing the app in Applications — your library stays put.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to buy OnePaste before using it?

Yes. The download is free, but OnePaste needs a license key to work — a one-time purchase of $19. Your key is shown right after checkout and emailed to you; OnePaste asks for it the first time you open it.

Why does OnePaste need Accessibility access?

macOS only lets apps notice a key press in other apps — like your double-tap of Option — and paste on your behalf if you allow Accessibility access. OnePaste uses it for exactly those two things and never records what you type.

The double-tap doesn’t open OnePaste. What should I check?

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and make sure OnePaste is switched on. Tap Option twice quickly without holding it. Password fields and apps with Secure Keyboard Entry block it by design.

The text isn’t pasting into one app. What can I do?

Click into the text field first so the cursor is blinking, then double-tap Option. If an app still doesn’t accept it, press ⌘C in the overlay to copy and paste with ⌘V yourself — and let us know which app.

How do I uninstall OnePaste?

Quit it from the menu-bar icon and drag OnePaste from Applications to the Trash. Your library is in ~/Library/Application Support/OnePaste if you want to remove it too.
